Befimmo acquires the office floors in the brand new Antwerp Tower in the heart of the city of Antwerp

Expansion of the Silversquare coworking network

Befimmo is happy to announce the acquisition of the office floors in the Antwerp Tower in which Silversquare will operate, as from mid-2022, its 10th coworking space. Located in the heart of the city of Antwerp at 500 m from the Central train station, the Antwerp Tower is a state of the art residential development by Matexi with mixed use ground floors.

Antwerp, an important business centre in Flanders

With this transaction[1] Befimmo acquires its third property in Antwerp, an important business centre in Flanders. The Antwerp Tower is located in a prime location next to the Opera House and close to the Central Station, the metro and the Meir, the busiest retail street of the city. The three brand-new floors enjoy a beautiful terrace with a great view on the bustling city life. Befimmo also acquires 20 parking spaces.

Reinforcing the Silversquare network

After the recent openings of Silversquare Bailli and Central, it is time for new horizons! With the acquisition of the second, third and fourth floor (5,600 m²) of the Antwerp Tower, Befimmo has paved the way for Silversquare’s expansion to Antwerp. Mid-2022, after having opened Silversquare Kanal in the Quatuor building in Brussels, Silversquare will set up shop in Antwerp on a very strategic location.

Later in 2022 Silversquare will open in Liège. The new space in Louvain-La-Neuve is foreseen for 2023.

"Our locations are chosen strategically," says Alexandre Ponchon, co-founder of Silversquare. "We deliberately focused on Brussels (and Zaventem) first to create a solid base from which we can expand to other major Belgian cities and to Luxembourg.".

A hybrid world of work

The office of the future will be very different from the one of the past. “Over the last few years, we have been evolving towards a world of hybrid work in which employees share their time between different locations, it being in the office, at home or in coworking spaces. We clearly see a need for more flexibility." says Jean-Philip Vroninks, CEO of Befimmo, “We are building a Belux network to be able to meet this growing demand outside Brussels, in other major Belgian and Luxembourg cities, as well.”

“Antwerp Tower creates a new face for the Opera square. The renovated building counts 240 apartments, a lot of nice restaurants, some shops and now also a stylish coworking space. At Matexi, we’re eager to launch another collaboration with Befimmo after Paradis Express in Liège.”, ads Luc Van Rysseghem, Business Manager Antwerpen at Matexi.
